Two clerks were assaulted by a pair of men early on Tuesday morning when they made off with cash, merchandise, and their victims' personal property, authorities say.
A police spokesperson said that at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, two masked men dressed in all black came running into the convenience store on Middlebrook Road.
One pointed a black handgun at an employee and forced him behind the cash register while demanding cash, to which he complied. When the employee was ordered to open the store's safe, which he was unable to do, he was then robbed.
The second suspect grabbed a separate employee and forced them to the side of the store, reaching into their pockets and stealing personal items.
He then began repeatedly hitting the employee, police said.
In video released by the department, the armed suspect can be seen chasing the suspect in the store while brandishing the gun and pointing it at him while the other suspect was in a separate area.
After the assault, the two men fled the store in a reported white SUV or pick-up truck.
The suspect with a gun was described as being a Black man who was 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, wearing a black skull cap, mask, pants, shoes and gloves. The second was approximately 6-foot also wearing all black.
